When I found out I was having a boy six and a half years ago my world was turned upside down. I knew absolutely nothing about baby boys. I have two younger sisters; I was not prepared to bring a boy into this world. I was excited and extremely happy that I was having a son but I had no clue what to do with one. I was in panic mode!!! I had a huge smile plastered on my face when I looked up at my husband when they revealed his gender. Yet inside I was in a sinking ship bailing out water with buckets that had holes in them. The alarms were sounding and I was panicking. I took a deep breath looked at the ultra sound picture and calm came over me. I knew I could do this. We would be learning together. I mean, I grew up with male cousins, I survived playing with boys. It couldn't be that hard? Then again when they annoyed me I could send them home. I had to take a deep breath and remind myself again that it was going to be great. It was going to be the start of a wonderful adventure. You know what? It has been the best adventure I have ever been on.

Why am I giving a back story when I am trying to tell you how awesome Imaginext is? Simple I want you to know that I literately knew nothing about how boys play in the early stages of growth. I want you to know that there was a lot of trial and error when it came to finding toys that peaked my sons interest. Especially when they are around two and three and want to play with action figures but the bigger ones aren’t built for toddler play. Let’s take a moment of silence for my husband’s action figures that did not make it after my son got a hold of them. Here's to you one legged batman, Spider girl that is now in two pieces and DeLorean that didn't make it after my son sat on it. There were many nights filled with tears. My son cried too not just his daddy.

When my son turned two we started a wonderful relationship with Imaginext toys. If you have a son around two I urge you to start your collection too. No matter what interests your child Imaginext makes a toy designed to fit that need. The greatest thing about Imaginext is that they make toys for any interest your child may have. They have Pirates, Knights, Super Heroes, Police, Dinosaurs, Star Wars, that sky and the sea are the limit. They are constantly creating new toys. I should know my son saves his allowance money to add to his obsession (I mean collection).

I have to say in all honesty my favorite “land” as my son calls them, has to be the city. I love the fact, that the police cars, ambulance, and fire truck communicate with the Rescue City Center. All you have to do is push a button on the top of the police car and as long as the Rescue Center is on it will talk to the police car. It can even distinguish the different rescue vehicles. Its refreshing that they are able to incorporate real life occupations into  the worlds of imagination that they have created. For me as a mom it is great that my sons imagination has no bounds but having a real world within the Imaginext Universe, grounds him. It encourages him to dream and understand that real occupations can be just as interesting as being a Super hero. It teaches them that Police, Doctors, EMT's and Fireman are real life heroes. So are just about any other occupation.

So, if you have a child that loves to discover new worlds: be it in the sea like Sponge Bob World, or in space like the Alien inhabitant; where you can be an alien or an Astronaut.  They can be a super hero or a villain from the DC Universe. A knight at the round table fighting with angry Vikings or pirates. Playing in Dinosaur world with the characters of Jurassic Park. Fighting Galactic tyranny in far off lands in the Star Wars Dimension. Or simply playing in the world of Disney's Pixar, the fun is limitless. The Play sets can average anywhere between $25 to $100. The figures price range from $ 2.99 for a mystery single pack to $8.99 single pack. The vehicles run anywhere between $14.99 to $29.99.
